MetroTex Association of REALTORS® Updating Your DisplayKEY

To perform an automatic eSYNC, follow these steps:

Place your DisplayKEY on the DisplayKEY Cradle the night before your key expires. Between the hours of midnight and 6AM, the DisplayKEY dials KIMnet and completes an eSYNC one time each week. The update process takes only several minutes. Note: Every time you turn on your DisplayKEY, a message is displayed showing when your next automatic eSYNC is scheduled.

Remove the Display KEY from the Cradle when you are ready to leave for work the next day. It is updated, charged, and ready to use. If you forget to eSYNC automatically, you can manually update your key three ways:

  1. You may find it necessary to perform an immediate eSYNC if you did not eSYNC overnight, or the automatic eSYNC failed. To perform an immediate eSYNC, follow these steps:
    1. Press ENTER to activate the DisplayKEY.
    2. Scroll through the list of functions to IMMEDIATE ESYNC. Press ENTER to select it.
    3. When prompted, place the DisplayKEY in the cradle. The eSYNC function begins. During the eSYNC, the Cradle light turns green indicating the DisplayKEY and Cradle are connected. The Cradle light then flickers green and amber and then turns red to indicate the modem is dialing out to establish a connection with KIMnet. Once the connection has been established, the Cradle light flickers while information is transferred. The KEY displays CONNECTING TO CRADLE during the entire eSYNC. When the transfer of information is complete the light turns back to green and the DisplayKEY shows a single dot (.) to indicate the battery is charging. IMPORTANT – DO NOT REMOVE THE DISPLAYKEY FROM THE CRADLE WHILE THE RED LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED.
  2. Call KIMvoice to obtain an update code and manually enter it into your KEY. Call KIMvoice at (888) 968-4032. KIMvoice will give you two sets of codes to enter into your DisplayKEY. After receiving the codes, press ENTER on your DisplayKEY to activate it. Scroll through the functions to MANUAL UPDATE OR CBS. Press ENTER to select it. Follow the instructions given by KIMvoice to enter both sets of codes into your key.
  3. Log onto KIMweb to obtain an update code and manually enter it into your DisplayKEY. Go to www.dfwrealtors.com, and click on the Supra KIMweb Login Link. Use your serial number (located on the back of your key) and your pin number to login. Once connected to KIMweb, click on the Update Code link option. Instructions are included onscreen to help you enter the update code on your DisplayKEY.

IMPORTANT! If you obtain an update code from either KIMweb or KIMvoice, you must eSYNC before you can obtain an update code a second time from KIMweb or KIMvoice.

Troubleshooting – DisplayKEY’s (dKEY’s)
Some common problems may occur. The following tips may help you resolve a problem before you have to contact Field Support or Metrotex for assistance.

Cannot return to DisplayKEY menu options
If you get into a menu option that you can’t exit by pressing the arrow keys, or want to get back to the main menu, press ENTER and 1 together to reset the Key.

KeyBox container will not open
If the KeyBox does not release the key container, you may have tried to access the KeyBox before or after time access hours. Contact the KeyBox owner for access hours or call Metrotex at (214) 637-6660.

Key container will not close
Check to see if the listing keys are blocking movement of the key container. If nothing seems to be preventing the container from closing, do not force it. Bring the KeyBox to Metrotex for assistance.

Code: forgotten or lost
Keep a master record of your codes in a secure location. If you forget a KeyBox shackle code, select one of the following options to find it:

  • If you set up KeyBox information in the Assignments Maintenace screen, a listing of your KeyBoxes and their related codes, is provided. Log onto the agent website. Go to the Box Information Screen in Reports.
  • If you have not completed the KeyBox setup in the Assignment screen on KIMweb, call Metrotex for assistance.
  • NOTE: Do not call Supra Technical support for lost codes. They cannot provide you with this information!

Bad Code Time-Out
When you enter ten incorrect codes within a 10-minute period, a buzz tone sounds and your DisplayKEY times out for 10 minutes. At the end of this time period, the Key self-activates and is again ready for use. To avoid a bad code time-out, verify that you are entering a correct PIN or Shackle Code before repeating the procedure.

Reset DisplayKEY Cradle
A tiny opening located next to the telephone ports on the cradle houses the reset switch. If you place your Key on the Cradle and no lights illuminate in the Cradle’s LED, this indicates that the Cradle has become locked and will not function. The Cradle must be reset to perform the battery recharge or to complete an eSYNC. Select one of the following methods to reset the DisplayKEY Cradle.

  • Unplug the Cradle’s power cord from the wall outlet then plug it back into the outlet.
  • Insert one end of a paper clip into the reset opening and press the reset switch inside to reactivate the Cradle.
  • Errors can occur for a variety of reasons. The following are a list of error messages.
