Security Alert – Appliance theft on the rise!

There have been a number of homes, primarily new/model homes throughout the DFW area that are having appliances stolen. The target homes have high end appliances and the police suspect that the thief is posing as a potential buyer and making appointments with agents to see the homes where he identifies the items and then later returns or sends accomplices, gaining access through a lockbox code obtained during the showing or by leaving an entry point unlocked. The Colleyville police department has a specific suspect and would like agents to be aware of suspicious activity. You may not be aware of the theft to make the connection between the showing and the theft so they would like reports of any showings that are suspect, particularly to a person that is readily providing a $950,000 Letter of Credit as proof of qualification and is often seen in an older model Mercedes sedan. He may show particular interest in appliances and security systems and not much interest in other features of the homes. Reports can be made through Det. Etheridge 817-503-1266 and he can determine if the description of your prospect matches that of his suspect and link it to later theft reports.
